Spring is in the air. With springtime comes a renewed sense of focus, a renewed joy, and the promise of sunshine and laughter.
Becoming Collegiate Academy celebrates Spring with the North Jacksonville community by giving away over 100 baskets filled with educational activities, toys, candy, and plenty of love! "This is the time of the year when the sun shines brighter, and everyone smile a bit more, "said Becoming Collegiate Academy Founder, Cameron Frazier. "We want to celebrate that love and energy with the Norwood community, where our new home is located."
Becoming is excited to partner with the North Jacksonville community to found the first Historically Black College and University (HBCU)inspired elementary school in Jacksonville, Florida. Becoming's model is focused on providing a space for students, families, and the Greater Jacksonville community to belong. "At it's core, HBCUs provide a space for students to belong. And, as a result of feeling safe and seen, HBCUs are credited for producing the greatest number of Black educators, engineers, lawyers, doctors in the US, to name a few. We believe that by replicating that culture our students will grow and flourish to reach their fullest potential, " quoted Frazier. Becoming will open it's door in the August of 2022 to kindergarten and first grades students on Norwood Ave in the Historic Gateway Town Center. Parents who are interested in their child having a unique elementary experience can submit an application at www.becomingschools.org. All students who are going to kindergarten and first grade are encouraged to apply.
